Watt is hoping to contribute towards the Clarets enjoying a bright future, with the plan being to cement the club among English football’s elite. He has, however, been advised by fellow former NFL star Pat McAfee to consider relocating the club. McAfee told his talk show during a discussion with Watt: “You should think about bringing Burnley to MLS. There would be a lot of travel, I assume you can afford it.”
WHAT JJ WATT SAID
Rather than be dragged into that rather bemusing discussion, Watt revealed that Burnley are planning to head for the United States for friendly dates at some point in the near future. He said: “We’re working on bringing them over to America for a little pre-season action. We’re working on that.”
