Aaronson ends 62-game droughtScores winner for Union BerlinDefeated Hoffenheim 1-0WHAT HAPPENED?
Aaronson made an absolutely brilliant run off the ball during a Union Berlin counter in the 84th minute. Yorbe Vertessen brought the ball down to the corner, cut in, and found the American midfielder who then fired into the bottom corner of the net.

Aaronson has had a tough start to life in Germany with Berlin, who had a shambolic first half of the campaign. They were near the bottom of the Bundesliga at one point, crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in the group stage and ended up sacking their coach. Aaronson, meanwhile, lost his starting spot at the club and was essentially being used as a late cameo player during a period in the first half of the campaign.
However, Saturday was a bright moment for the 23-year-old. His last goal at club level came for Leeds in 2022 against Chelsea in the Premier League, and he finally broke that drought. Now, one would hope that this will potentially lead to him being reinserted into the XI ahead of a busy year for the USMNT. If Aaronson can start getting regular minutes, there's a chance he can push himself back into Gregg Berhalter's team.
