At just 16 years of age, Yamal is already up to 20 competitive appearances for Liga giants Barca while earning four senior international caps for Spain. Given his age, records have tumbled around the teenager as he reaches the very top of the game.

He was at it again in his latest Champions League appearance, with an assist provided for Ferran Torres in a meeting with Royal Antwerp. In teeing up a grateful team-mate, Yamal has become the youngest player to register an assist in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

That record was previously held by fellow La Masia academy graduate Bojan Krkic – who was 17 years and 91 days old when setting up an effort for Barca back in November 2007. Yamal is just 16 years and 153 days old, with it likely to take some time before anybody gets close to his latest piece of sporting history.
