FC Dallas star Alan Velasco is the subject of a $10 million bid from Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors. The 22-year-old attacker, who signed a four-year contract extension with the Western Conference side in December as a Young Designated Player, could be on the move this winter as the famed club of Diego Maradona look to bolster their roster ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Velasco, a blistering winger, returned to the pitch in August 2024 after suffering an ACL injury in the 2023 MLS playoffs. He was the No. 1 ranked player on MLS' 22-Under-22 list in 2023. In 62 career regular season matches for FCD, he has 12 goals and 13 assists.

Dallas have already reportedly transferred U.S. international Jesus Ferreira to fellow MLS side Seattle Sounders, meaning one key component of their attack is already out the door. Winger Paul Arriola, meanwhile, has also been linked with a move to the Pacific Northwest. Superstar DP striker Petar Musa has also been the subject of a European transfer this January, with reported interest from Nottingham Forest and Leicester City.
Moving Velasco, on top of Ferreira – along with interest in both Musa and Arriola – could result in an entire rebuild in their attacking core in 2025. It remains to be seen, though, if FCD are set to entertain Boca's interest in their star winger.
Ahead of participation in the 2025 Club World Cup, Boca are looking to prepare for the competition, as they are set to take on German giants Bayern Munich, Portuguese powerhouse Benfica and New Zealand's Auckland City in Group C of the tournament.
