Glenn Whelan has been at Aston Villa since the start of the season, but he is yet to warm himself to the club’s faithful following.
The midfielder has started 24 of the club’s 27 Championship games, but the supporters have not been impressed with his performances.
During last weekend’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, the 34-year-old managed just 45 minutes before he was taken off with an injury.
This week, though, Whelan returned to training ahead of today’s fixture at home to Barnsley.
Somebody else who has also taken part in training is Mile Jedinak, who has had a frustrating season due to injuries.
In fact, the Australia international has only managed 11 appearances in the Championship, and seven of them have been starts.
In his last five outings, though, the 33-year-old has played all 90 minutes of action.
Villa posted an injury update on the pair through Twitter, and it is safe to say that the fans do not want Whelan near the first XI later today.
