With the aggregate score locked at 1-1 on Thursday night, Maddison won a penalty as he headed towards goal and was heavily taken out by Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos, who was eventually booked after VAR awarded the penalty. Maddison had to be withdrawn after the hefty collision but Dominic Solanke kept his composure to score the winner.

Maddison was treated on the turf while the officials deliberated over their decision. While the spot-kick was awarded, the England international was unable to continue and had to be replaced by Dejan Kulusevski before half-time. There was natural concern over Maddison, with Spurs facing Nottingham Forest on Monday night, but Postecoglou later revealed he has not suffered a serious injury.
WHAT POSTECOGLOU SAID
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Postecoglou said: "He is fine. Unbelievable courage in that moment to put his body on the line knowing full well that he was going to get a pretty severe knock and I was surprised it wasn't a red card.
"Super courageous from him. He is sore but I'm sure that has all been numbed knowing that he has helped us progress to the semi."
