One of Tottenham Hotspur’s ongoing debates has once again been sparked following their devastating exit from the FA Cup earlier this week.It has left the north Londoners staring down the barrel of yet another season without a trophy while their chances of qualifying for the Champions League again are hanging by a thread.Five points from the top four; an away goal against them in Germany. Things aren’t looking so rosy now.Independent chief football writer Miguel Delaney sees only one decision at fault for their mounting misfortunes after he tweeted his thoughts after Spurs were knocked out on penalties by Norwich City.He said:
Delaney blasts Spurs for losing their “best asset” in Mauricio Pochettino, a decision they will live to regret as they have tried to opt for the “cheaper option” of Jose Mourinho – a move that may end up being more costly in the long-run.
His remarks make a mockery of Daniel Levy’s comments when the Portuguese boss was first appointed.
“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.â€
Spurs are still “stale” despite a change in manager, which completely goes against the reasons why he was brought in. Has there been “energy” and “belief”?
Four straight defeats and out of most competitions would suggest otherwise, meaning Delaney could well have hit the nail on the head.
Money talks: How much did Levy pay for each of these Spurs stars?
Pochettino had guided this exact side minus Gedson Fernandes and Steven Bergwijn to the Champions League final while Mourinho appears to be the man steering them out of it.
And in other news,ÂSpurs fans are wanting rid of ENIC after this bombshell on Harry Kane…
