Reported Manchester United target Jorginho started and impressed for Italy in their 1-1 friendly draw against England at Wembley on Tuesday night, and Red Devils fans have urged their club to sign the 26-year-old.
The Mirror reported on March 22 that United are one of three Premier League clubs in the frame to bring the £50m-rated midfielder to England, and he certainly did no harm to his chances with a fine display in the middle of the park for the Azzurri against Gareth Southgate’s men, where he showed the quality he has on the ball.
Jose Mourinho could be looking to bring two new central midfield players to Old Trafford this summer with Michael Carrick retiring and the futures of Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba looking to be up in the air right now, and Jorginho looks to be on his shortlist of targets.
Man United supporters, who also want Spain hat-trick hero Isco to come to Old Trafford, were quick to have their say on the Brazilian-born player’s latest display via social media, and while one said “Jorginho is the player we need to replace Carrick”, another said “Jorginho again showing why he’s one of the best deep-lying playmakers in world football”.
